Good Afternoon Sunny CNH!

Welcome to the SPOOKIEST week of October 👻! Boy do we have a treat for all of you guys, September Member of the Month! These members were selected by their divisions for all of their contributions for the month of September. Please join me in congratulating these nine individuals and scroll down to read what was said about them!

🦅Capital Division🦅
Celena Yee, UC Davis

Celena is one of the most hard working member for her both home club and division. She constantly helps out others when needed and always talk to other members. Not only does she serve on her club board but also on the division leadership team. Her dedication and involvement has made an enormous impact to this organization.

🐢Central Coast Division🐢
Luke Barella, Moorpark College

Luke is the real MVP of the central coast division. Sending out those MR forms and reminding us of those Mondays like a boss. Pressing that send button like Kobe on the court! I really think this person deserves member of the Month for one reason: Pushing on without receiving the minimum. In my perspective, collectively and in the current moment, our division is lacking of that spark within itself. Meaning, that “effort” can be low at times, especially when it comes to divisional work such as the MR forms. Having one to none fill out a form that you have been pushing for one or two weeks can really wear down a person’s motivation, especially when they themselves are putting in such a grand effort in reminding everyone. This person shouldn’t have to personally reach out to people but he does because he cares and he does it with a smile on his face and that is a really important quality. If you know this person, even a little bit, you know how kind and amazing he is.

🍊Citrus Division🍊
Krystal Anh Phan, Cypress College

Although Krystal Phan has only been in the organization for a month, she will hit you with that “ddu-du ddu-du du” of love for our organization. In her home club, she has been an exceptional help in other areas of the club such as marketing, promotion, and connecting her home club with the community and other schools within Citrus. Her dedication is unmistakable through her consistent attendance of service and fellowship events as she would even make the effort to attend other division’s interclubbing projects such as the CSULB CKI 19-20: Awake-a-thon. Her upbeat attitude and work ethics have made her a beloved member of our ohana, and for that, we thank her greatly!

🌵Desert Oasis Division🌵
Katherine Dunn, College of Southern Nevada

Katherine is the secretary for the Circle K at College of Southern Nevada. Despite having just started the club up, Katherine has done so much in setting a foundation for their club through marketing and technology and has been overall very excited to help this club grow.

🔥Foothill Division🔥
Emily Reale, Pasadena City College

Emily has constantly kept her club encouraged and appreciated by constantly going to events, offering carpool, doing her best to continue and also strengthen our Kiwanis relations while all being a student. She is very welcoming to new members and allows everyone to have their voice heard. PCC is lucky to have Emily as she is constantly putting in all her effort in everything she does.

🌉Golden Gate Division🌉
Robin Hyun, University of San Francisco

Robin may be a new member to CKI, but has shined bright and has made a huge impact in their short time in the org. She has taken on a leadership role as social and graphics chair, and has been present for all events on campus since the beginning of welcome week. In her ambition to be more, she has come out of her quiet shell and grown as a person.

🚊Metro Division🚊
Gisell Fernandez, UC Los Angeles

Gisell has been an active board officer for UCLA and a great personality to be around. Her tabling energy is welcoming and she exhibits a fun personality during events. Even though I have been involved with Kiwanis for 4 years and counting, she still is able to pull me in as if I were new to this organization. It is impressive, to say the least, that any member could have as much enthusiasm as Gisell. She has proven to be a force within this club and I look forward to her involvement within Circle K in the future.

🍍Paradise Division🍍
Daniel Freeman, Grossmont College

If you ever need someone to hype you up, Daniel’s the person to be with. He recognizes everyone’s effort and shows his appreciation through cheering for them and bringing the atmosphere in the whole room up. Even if its just a small thing, there is no doubt if Daniel is there he’ll he cheering you on. His positive energy and attitude can be felt. Even if it’s not a formal way of showing appreciation like an award, simply hearing someone cheer you on for an achievement big or small makes a lasting impact.

🌅Sunset Division🌅
Ian Mallari, San Jose State University

Ian has done a great job with San Jose State’s welcome week! His hard work to provide a great experience for his members does not go unnoticed. He is always smiling and having fun when he leads the meetings, and it rubs off on everybody else too!
