Members of the Month - November 2008
UCD
Our member of the month is Midson, a new member who loves service and has dedicated a lot of his time to doing service projects. He went to almost every SPCA Pet Adoption which occurs every weekend. And for this month’s weekend of service, Midson attended nearly every single service event. He is always willing to help with whatever is needed at any projects he is at. He is a bit shy at the beginning, but is friendly and makes an effort to meet everyone. Thanks Midson for being an awesome member! UOP Alan Chang and Kailyn Han put much of their time and effort for Circle K. They are often seen completing projects outside the meeting times and make the time to better the club. Both of them will be leaving next semester, so we will miss their presence and service in our club! Sac State
Victor Chan is a dedicated member of Circle K. He has attended and participated in many events like Crazy Kompetition, FTC, the A.C.T. Games, and has become a regular volunteer for St. Philomene's Food Kitchen. Victor will go above and beyond the call of duty to help plan and implement projects and activities. He has a competitive personality, which helps keep Circle K striding towards excellence. It's members like Victor who is helping to improve our club, one event at a time. UCR Larissa Siregar is the member of the month for November! She has been a very active member by attending many service projects including tutoring at Longfellow Elementary. Not only does she attend service projects, she also chairs service events as well! She coordinated the street cleanup service project and currently is in charge of a holiday-giving program at the soup kitchen location. Larissa is a great example of a Circle K member who embodies the three tenets—service, leadership, and fellowship. UNLV When members take the initiative to stand up and take charge of chairing an event, that’s when the board notices that member deserves some kind of recognition. This month, we have had several members do just that. However, there was one member who stood out the most. Working closely with our treasurer to plan one of our biggest fundraisers this month, this member took time out of her busy schedule to make sure that we had all of the materials needed to have a successful fundraiser. Because of her efforts and hard work, we have named Kristine Estrella as our Member of the Month. CPP Calvin Ko, brand new to Cal Poly Pomona Circle K, went above and beyond his responsibilities as a new member. The president had to attend a council meeting for the club which conflicted with the FTC scheduled departure time. Calvin took charge and made sure the car was ready, other members were present and accounted for, and ensured the trip to FTC began smoothly. He did all this after deciding to go to FTC the day before. De Anza
Outstanding Member of the Month goes to Colin Walker Wingate. Just joined but enthusiastic about Circle K. Colin has been to all of our November’s events. He’s already fired up for DCON! His name is awesome too. Colin Walker Wingate. HE’LL BE AT CIRCLE K IDOL AT DCON, WATCH OUT. Berkeley Dmitriy has been an outstanding member this past month! He has gone far and beyond by putting himself out there and doing the best he can. He joined the Fall Training Conference District Committee and worked hard with other members throughout Cal-Nev-Ha to make this year's FTC a success. Not only was he part of the committee, but he was also the slideshow chair and the Campfire Skit Chair. This month, he also was a big help at the Silent Auction held by the Kiwanians. You may have also seen Dmitriy at the SF Green Festival, concession stands, and in Reno at the UNR Member Inductions! He truly put in his all this month of November! And we appreciate every moment of it. CSUF Dennis Tsai has been a great member this month he is usually in charge of trail clean up and organizes the event! UCLA Gerardo Del Toro – Another buzzing first year with great energy, Gerardo has shown great commitment to our community and to the club. He has swept through both 24 Hours and 48 Hours of Service marathons, and has been active in many of our committees. Diana Cheng – This sweet personality is undeniable at many of UCLA’s events! Diana took part in the FTC skit where she was the evil villain, and has even volunteered her time by assisting in our Meal Delivery events… where she walked all over the residential halls! Kevin Le – Another amazing member this month is this fellow, who not only serves our community by getting down and dirty with pulling weeds, but is one of our star dancers as well. He busted a move at Masquerade Ball, and there’s no stopping him this year. SDSU Jonatan Spijuth is our member of the month for November. He joined the club in October and has gone to most of our projects these past two months. In the short time that he’s been with us, he’s also helped us with our membership by inviting two of his friends to join! UCSD Dorothy Yen is our November MOM! Her dedications show the three tenets of Circle K. She serves the community by chairing and volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House of Charity; she shows her leadership skills by giving inputs at the service committee meetines; and she makes new friends at our social events. Congrats, Dorothy! |
