April Recognition Recap

At May DCM, the following two members were recognized for Metro Officer of the Month and Monster of the Month!

From Kim Vo, Metro Membership Recognition & Retention Coordinator:

The first member that was recognized was none other than Pierce College’s Shaadi Sabeti!! She was recognized as April’s (and our first ever) Metro Officer of the Month WOWIE!! It gives me great pleasure to recognize Shaadi for going above and beyond in her work as VPS’s. Her efforts to reach out and connect and meet the rest of our division is admirable and thanks to her, all of Metro’s VPS now has a group chat going on! She also deserves to be recognized for being the main driver for her club and for safely driving members out to events as well as other clubs’ meetings. So please show Shaadi some love the next time you see her or talk to her! Sorry we missed you at the last DCM, Shaadi, but we still want to thank you! Luckily, your president, James Cortes was there to accept your award, although he’s not quite as cool as you are. We appreciate you, Shaadi, and thank you for being such a great role model, being such a great promoter of divisional unity, and for being you. We can’t wait to see what else you have in store for the rest of your term!

Secondly, CSU Long Beach’s Damian Vong was also recognized for being our April Monster of the Month! Though he was just a shy freshman at one point, in April we were able to see how much he has grown in CKI. At service events you can see Damian serving with a great attitude and never complaining. On top of attending many service events, Damian also volunteers to take pictures for his club, leading him to apply for CSULB CKI’s new Historian Committee. In the words of his president, Eddie Castillo, “although not a directly appointed officer, his leadership and initiative is equivalent to being on board.” Eddie says that he can “already tell that Damian Vong will become a strong CKI leader during this term and future terms to come.” We appreciate you, Damian, for stepping up to being more than a general member and giving back to CKI! Keep being the welcoming and fun presence in your club; your club is lucky to have you!
Thank you to both Shaadi and Damian for making your home club and Metro so proud of you! Again, please show your love to Shaadi or Damian and let them know that they are so so so very appreciated!
