So, I kind of cheated and had two colors: pearl and yellow. Pearl is for lung cancer awareness. My grandmother died when I was in high school due to lung cancer. Although I never really knew my grandmother because she lived in Taiwan, I saw how it affected my mom. Also, my boyfriend's grandmother was like another grandmother to me and she suffered through lung cancer as well. It was painful to see how it affected her and her family and she also died a couple years later from the cancer as well. Yellow stands for suicide prevention. One of my good friends died my junior year in high school. It was really hard dealing with her death since you never really expect someone to die at that age. Her mom never really told me exactly how she died, but her sister recently contacted me and let me know that Carson took her own life. Lung cancer and suicide have both affected my loved ones, so I chose those pearl and yellow to signify these issues.
