CIRCLE K INTERNATIONAL MEMBERS HOST ANNUAL CHARITABLE CAFE NIGHT
CLAREMONT, California; February 20th, 2016 –– College students of the East Los Angeles region of Circle K International (CKI) have prepared for their third annual Phoenix Cafe Night on February 20th, 2016. This year, the event will take place at the Dorris Lounge of Pomona College, showcasing the talents of members from Pomona, Pasadena, and East Los Angeles in a serene environment.
Each year, Circle K International members in this area host this event to fundraise for the Kiwanis Family House in Sacramento, California. Leading the event is Stephanie Trinh, a third year student at the Cal Poly Pomona. Members will not only have the chance to unwind in a night of music and entertainment, but also be raising awareness for the Kiwanis Family House and its mission to provide temporary housing for families of patients treated at the UC Davis Medical Center.
Trinh states, “This event brings together clubs throughout the Inland Empire to raise money for a great cause, the Kiwanis Family House. For us to just hang out, network, and listen to the talent that is around us while raising money for this cause is truly an amazing experience. We look forward to hosting this event once again, and welcome anyone who is interested in a night of great local talent while helping a charity so dear to our club.”
Last year, the event raised over $500 for the Kiwanis Family House. This year’s goal is set at $600 with over 50 attendees. With these contributions, the money will be used to provide convenient, restful, secure, and low-cost accommodations for the families of those being treated at the UC Davis Medical Center and Shriners Hospital.
