I hope that each of you are staying safe and healthy, and that the beginning of the term has treated well in all of your endeavors! As we enter the term, it is that time of the year where we focus on one specific District Fundraising Initiative a little more. This week Sunspot is all about the Pediatric Trauma Program!

You might be wondering, What is the Pediatric Trauma Program?
Founded in 1994 by the CNH Kiwanis Foundation, the Pediatric Trauma Program aimed to reduce the number of fatalities that were caused by pediatric trauma, through education and training as well as the providing resources to youth. Pediatric Trauma, covering a wide array of topics, and unintentional injury makeup to be the #1 killer of children under 14, with 90% of the causes being preventable to some extent.
Charitable contributions come from not only Circle K, but also a majority of our SLP/Kiwanis Family branches. With these, PTP has been able to expand its resources and impact in communities throughout CNH through training, partnering with hospitals in Oakland, San Diego, Loma Linda, Madera, Honolulu, and Reno, and providing safety equipment (ranging from helmets to specialized medical equipment) to communities in need!
Though it might sound like a lot – it is in-part of events such as CNH Circle K PTP Week and Crazy Kompetition for Infants, that shine a light and raise funds for this initiative, that we are making an impact.

That’s right! Starting October 5th, 2020, the annual CNH Circle K PTP Week kicks off for a week of social media challenges, service opportunities, and educational events to raise awareness of the amazing work that the Pediatric Trauma Program does!

But wait, there’s MORE…Crazy Kompetition for Infants is just 2 WEEKS AWAY!
For those who have yet to join for a “CKI” – Crazy Komp is the largest fundraiser for the Pediatric Trauma Program hosted by the CNH Circle K District of Circle K International! This event is one big field day (virtual in this case) that focuses on awareness and fundraising for PTP! Do you have 5 other members of CNH Circle K that you like? Start a team together while contributing to the District-Wide Fundraising event, while competing against other teams along the way!
The deadline to register is OCTOBER 9th!
