Hi there!

Welcome to the 2nd month of Member Recognition Mondays!  Each month, Lt. Governors will nominate a member who embodies the prompt of the month.  This week, we will spotlight members from Capital, Golden Gate, and Sunset!

Back to school season is a busy time for new member recruitment.  Thinking back to when you first joined, we are sure that you remember the Circle K member or officer who inspired you to get involved in Circle K.  Although the start of the new school year emphasizes the experience of new members, we can’t forget that new members would not be in Circle K if it weren’t for the returning general members who motivate them to start their Circle K journey! This month, we asked Lt. Governors to spotlight a returning general member who inspires others to get involved in Circle K.  Read their nomination statements below:

Capital: Nancy Nguyen

Nancy is known to be a mother figure for her club! As a past executive officer and now family head she continues to prove she cares about the members as individuals.  To be honest, weirdly I [Lawrence] had a dream I was at a service event with her the other day, and thought, “Wow she is a good person, I will choose her.” Davis is very thankful to have Nancy as a leader and role model in the club!

Golden Gate: Marilyn Nguyen, Napa Valley College

Marilyn embodies energy and what it means to be passionate about serving others. She is the honorary unicorn of Golden Gate, on account of being so spirited and unique. She is admired as both a leader and friend.

Sunset: Mark Catolos, San Jose State University

I chose Mark because he embodies everything Circle K is about and is truly passionate in his role as club president. He has a contagious attitude about the club that makes members strive to be as motivated and spirited as he is. He has shown his dedication to the club by serving on San Jose State University's Board for the second year in a row.

Thank you to these members for all that they do!  Make sure to go to the Facebook post and let them know how great they are.  While you’re at it, tag a returning member from these divisions who inspires others to get involved in Circle K.  Let us know why they inspire you and check in next week when we spotlight members from Central Coast, Desert Oasis, and Foothill!

With Love,

The 2016-2017 District Member Recognition Committee
