Welcome back sunny CNH! We hope you all survived finals, and have been celebrating the winter holidays with your friends and families!

Members throughout the District are also going about the holidays still embodying the three tenets of service, leadership, and fellowship! Let’s take a look and see what everyone is up to!

On November 24, 2019, Sac State CKI held it’s annual single service project, Gift of Giving. During this full day of service, Sac State engaged in several service projects that help serve its ISI and DSI. At the event, there were over 50 non-slip socks made for Shriner’s Children Hospital, and over 50 were made for no-sew blankets & no-sew scarves for Sacramento Children’s Homes. In addition, members made over 200 Candy Turkey Grams for St. Philomene’s Church usual Soup Kitchen, as well as over 100 handmade Notebooks for Title 1 Schools around the Sacramento Area. Overall, the event promoted fellowship between different branches of Kiwanis, as well as all the station leaders who helped make this event happen!

From December 13th-15th, Desert Oasis held it’s December Weekend of Awesomeness Weekend, a weekend-long event hosted by LTG Andy Ngyuen and UNLV. Members were divided into teams, as they focused on their past, present, and future selves, developing into better leaders along the way. In addition, they also engaged in service through the Las Vegas Jingle Bell run, helping the Vegas community in fighting Alzheimer’s disease. Andy Ngyuen was truly happy with the outcome of the event, and the growth of his members in Desert Oasis.

On December 21, 2019, CSUF held it’s annual Holiday party, as 60 members celebrated the holidays with each other. Members enjoyed the evening with tons of food and spirit as well as a White Elephant for the general members, and a secret Santa Gift Exchange for CSUF’s board. This event was a great way for everyone in CSUF CKI to spend time with each other before the holidays.
